What is Classical Conversations (CC) and how does Via Latina align with it?+
Classical Conversations is a national homeschool program that uses classical education methods. Via Latina is built specifically for CC families — our content is organized by CC level (Foundations Cycles 1-3, Essentials, Challenge A through Challenge IV) and follows the same vocabulary, grammar, and memory work your student does in community day.
Is Via Latina free?+
Via Latina offers a free tier with basic vocabulary drills and grammar tables. During our beta period, all features are unlocked for free — including the AI Tutor, timed quizzes, achievements, and all 7 subjects. When we launch paid plans, beta testers will receive founding member pricing.
What devices can I use Via Latina on?+
Via Latina works on any device with a modern web browser — phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. It works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. You can also install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your home screen for an app-like experience.
Does my child need their own account?+
No account is required to start practicing — your first 5 questions in each subject are free with no sign-up. Creating a free account lets you save progress, track streaks, and earn achievements. The Family plan supports multiple student profiles under one parent account.
How does the AI Tutor work? Is it safe for kids?+
The AI Tutor helps students translate Latin sentences and explains grammar concepts. It is specifically configured for educational use — it only discusses Latin, grammar, and CC curriculum topics. It adapts its explanations to three age levels (young, middle, and advanced). All AI responses are filtered for educational appropriateness.
Does Via Latina work offline?+
Basic vocabulary drills and grammar reference tables work offline after your first visit. Features that require a server connection (AI Tutor, account sync) need an internet connection. We are working on expanding offline capabilities.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
You can cancel anytime from your account settings or by emailing us at skyboundsystemsinc@gmail.com. There are no cancellation fees. During beta, all features are free so there is nothing to cancel.
Is my child’s data safe?+
Yes. We take children’s privacy seriously. We collect minimal data, do not sell any personal information, and comply with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
